Products Designed for Mature Skin are Popular with Young Girls
The Beauty Industry is a multibillion dollar industry. For nearly a century, this industry has persuaded women to spend hundreds of dollars each year on makeup and skin care products. It’s a global agenda. Women all over the world on every continent purchase makeup and skin care in pursuit of smooth, supple skin.
So why in the world are 10 and 12 year old girls doing the same thing?!
Women over 25 want to have the skin of their teen days. So it doesn’t make sense that a 12, 14 or 16 year old would want to use the same or similar products. Many of these products designed for mature skin is not for the tween consumer.
In the past five years, there has been an explosion of tween/teen skin care influencers on social media platforms such as TikTok, Snap Chat, and Instagram. Many of these influencers are young girls under the age of 16, a growing number under the age of 13. In addition, an increasing number of young boys are on social media doing makeup and skin care content.
I have mixed feelings about children using beauty and skin care products geared towards for adults. First, they’re young — they don’t need to wear cosmetics and use skin care products. Some soap and water and lotion should be more than enough. If they…
