You are a Black man, but you are a Black African Man. DEI is not the new racism. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies in this country were designed to make the playing field equitable for everyone - especially people of color and people with disabilitues. For example, let's say you had a child with a learning disability. There in public school (which is free in America regardless of income) and they need help with reading and writing. The child's reading level is 2 grades below w

here it needs to be (the child is in 6th grade and is comprehending text at a 4th grade level). Most curriculums are designed to be at or above a child's grade level. The schools is required to help the child with their academic learning and provide supports in the classroom (via the teacher, an aide, and other staff members) in order to help the child reach grade level and be on par with his peers. If we lived in a country that did away with such supports in school, millions of children (particularly Black and Brown children) would sruggle in schools causing chaso. Another example would be someone of color who is physically challenged, if they don't have protections under the law, companies could disregard their other abilities based on their physical challenges, denying employment, and other oppportunities. We need DEI in America. This country was built on racism and is powered by it. There are too many people at the helm who want people of color to become secon class ciztens and not even let them in the room - let alone a seat at the table.
