Who Will Harris’ VP Be?
The Excitement Shifts to Who Will Be Her Number 2
Kamala Harris is basking in the excitement over her candidacy. The Democratic Party has been reenergized as politicians, celebrities, and civilians rally around Harris. Donations have been pouring in, swelling Harris’ campaign war chest.
In addition, Trump and his cronies have been in panic mode. They’re running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Republicans in Congress are already on the attack, making racist and sexist comments. Republican pundits like Candance Owens have even stated that Harris “slept her way to the top.” And these statements have come out in the last 72 hours since Harris assumed the presidential nominee mantle from Biden.
This election has more twists and turns than a cheap soap opera. It makes for good television watching political analysts on CNN< MSNBC and ABC discuss Boden’s exit and Harris’ ascension. But now the talk has turned towards who Harris will name as her Vice President.
Many names, like Gretchen Whitmer and Pete Buttigieg, have already been floating around. California Governor Gary Newsome’s name has also come up in conversation. Many pundits say that Harris must select a vice president who will keep the energy going and galvanize the Democratic base. I agree.
