Where are the Philanthropic Billionaires?

Bezos, Branson, and Musk will not help us.

Our society needs help.

The Billionaire Boys Club of Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Richard Branson (Virgin Galactic), and Elon Musk (Tesla) are trying to conquer Outer Space while the issues on Earth continue to plague the rest of us. Instead of using their mountains of money to end world hunger, solve environmental issues, or provide homes for the homeless, they’re using their billions to fly toy space ships (and one of them looked like a penis). At least Oprah built a school for girls in Africa.

It just sickens me to see wealthy people flaunt their funds. They’re so worried about cashing in on Outer Space that they’ve forgotten (or ignored) the problems on our planet. People are dying from COVID-19. People have lost their homes to floodwaters and earthquakes. Children are receiving insufficient education in schools. Families have to choose between paying rent and putting food on the table. But yet, Bezos, Branson, and Musk can zoom into the stratosphere and play in antigravity.

I’m not mad about their wealth or status. I don’t strive to be a billionaire. I just want to be able to provide for my family and live a comfortable life. That’s what most people want for themselves. It just bothers me that those with money like to throw it in our faces with their designer duds, fancy cars, and football stadium-size mansions. We get it. You’re rich! Now do something meaningful with your wealth!

All the problems just in the United States alone could be solved by Bezos. He even admitted in an interview after returning from his penis-shaped space flight that his money is due to the labor of Amazon employees and the money from Amazon customers. That’s right, Bezos! American citizens helped you get into space. Now help the country solve its homeless crisis. Build some housing. Fund some food banks. Deposit a few thousand into the accounts of needy families. We don’t care that you’ve flown into space! We’re trying to survive!

And it’s not just billionaires who need to step up, it’s millionaires as well. We’re a country that is home to a ton of millionaires. Every state in the union has thousands of them. They need to chip in some dollars as well. If those with the means all helped local shelters, food banks, and school districts, just think of the positive impact it would have on these areas. People would have homes. Families could get food. Schools could receive the supplies they needed to educate children. So many futures could be changed with the help.

Yeah, I know. It’s wishful thinking. So many of the wealthy are selfish and greedy. They hold onto their money like it’s about to disappear. They create trust funds for their kids and pass on the wealth to them. Few what to help the less fortunate. They just don’t care.

So, members of the dollarnaire club, join me in doing what we do best — make a way out of no way. We need to save our money, change our spending habits, and learn how to invest. We must take advantage of free programs and tools to help us increase our bottom line. The internet is our friend. Go to Youtube and watch videos about finance. We must learn to earn. Then, when any of us reaches millionaire or even billionaire status, help those still in the trenches. We can change the future for all of us.
