As we head into mid-August, retailers ramp up for back-to-school shopping and fall-winter clothing trends. Many retailers have been stocking their shelves with fall’s trending colors since late June. More will come as August wraps up and we enter September.
Every season, there’s a color palette that designers use to craft their fashions and present them on the runway. Once that happens, retailers begin stocking up on items that mirror those designs, especially the color palette. Once the clothing has been mass-produced, they’re shipped off to retailers like H&M, Primark, Macy’s, Old Navy, and Target.

The color palette ranges from Bijoux Hues to Volcanic Red. Consumers will see dresses in buttery yellow, plum-colored coats, and shades of gray attire. If you have these colors in your closet, you’re already on-trend. If not, no worries; you can head down to your favorite retailers to refresh and update your wardrobe.
