The App Restarted in the U.S.

TikTok shut down on the evening of January 18th at around 10 P.M. As of 10 AM on January 19th, TikTok returned. I’m on the platform and was happy to learn I regained access to my pages. My kids were overjoyed to be able to view videos of their favorite creators once again.

But there’s something amiss. TikTok shut down even though the Biden Administration wasn’t planning to enforce the ban. Biden wanted the decision to fall on Trump. Today, Trump announced that TikTok would have 90 days to resolve the issue, suggesting that an American company gets a 50% stake.

Trump makes himself to be the hero in this situation. He wants it known that he saved TikTok. Trump negotiated with TikTok’s leadership to restore TikTok access in the United States. This is another attempt to distract the public from his nefarious plans.

Unfortunately, there will be those who will fall for Trump’s con. It’s the same situation as when Trump was in office in 2020 and issued stimulus checks with his name on it. Trump wanted the credit for sending out the checks. However, it was money that had been generated during Obama’s administration. However, many who received the checks credited Trump for them and became supporters.

There are 170 million TikTok users in the U.S. Many of them are young people between 18 and 29. These people are the ones Trump wishes to woo. Getting them to believe he saved TikTok will help him divert attention from his other plans — enriching himself and his…
