The Sexiest Man Alive?!
I Present My Top Ten Choices.
When I saw People Magazine’s cover featuring John Krasinski as the Sexiest Man Alive, I did a double take. I was like, huh? Don’t get me wrong, Krasinski is cute, even handsome — but sexy? No. Not by a long shot.
Every year, when People Magazine debuts its Sexiest Man Alive cover, I’ve either agreed with their choice, celebrated it, or ignored it. This time, I’m scratching my head. Krasinski wouldn’t even crack my top ten or top twenty choices for the title.
Why? Because the man is alright-looking. He’s not sexy. I wonder if People Magazine did this to appeal to white America. Because we all know the sexiest men in this country, even the world, are men of color. Black men. Latino men. Asian men. They’re the sexy ones. White men are average-looking at best, with only a few exceptions: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Stone Cold Steve Austin (yes, he is sexy!). White men who look good in person and in the roles they play on the big screen (or small one).
