The in issue is class and race. BPS is only paying lip service to "education for all" and "equitable education." They can talk a good game, but once they have the funding, they don't follow through. MCAS needs to go! It has caused too much stress and anxiety for Black, Brown, Special Needs, and MLLs. Schools are penalized qwhen they don't mean MCAS standards. DESE targets those schools for takeover and/or closure. so does Boston. Too many teachers in Boston have been forced out of the district by BPS. But if t that got results. tachers and admins who had innovative ways of instructing en't "quality" then why hasn't "quality" improved in the district? BPS has forced out or gotten rid of teachers and admins who got results. These results that BPS couldn't produce with all their highly educated "experts" at HQ. Made the district look bad. Got rid of the teachers who brought them into the district fold. Schools suffered. Schools shuttered. BPS does not care about Black and Brown students. Priod.
