The 77th Cannes Film Festival — an annual event in south France that premieres new international films — is underway and runs until Saturday, May 25. The first red carpet was on Tuesday, and so far, jury members Greta Gerwig (the Barbie director is leading the 77th Grand Jury as the first female American director to serve as a Cannes jury president) and Lily Gladstone have made their initial appearances as well-dressed judges. Meryl Streep resembled a cool vacationer who stumbled upon the festival, and, looking as fabulous as always, Anya Taylor-Joy is there for her latest blockbuster, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (no, not Dune: Part Two).
