Thank you for your essay. I have mixed feelings about this piece. The men seem to believe that Trump's actions are a good thing. What happens when their mothers, grandmothers or even themselves don't get Medicaid/Medicare or lose their health insurance? What happens to their children when they apply to college or to a job and get turned away simply for being Black? What happens to their wives or daughters or granddaughters who need to have an abortion due to a threat to their lives and the doctors say no? What then? Yes, the Democrats have their own set of problems, and maybe the government is too big, but a lot of people are being hurt by Trump's actions which will impact the economy and push the country into a recession - maybe a depression. Millions could lose their jobs - specifically Black and Brown people. What then? We can't build up our communities if people don't have money to buy food or pay their bills or can't get jobs because Trump has embolden racists to not hire us.
