Thank you for the article and the poem. As an educator, I am glad I am not required to wear a uniform. However, I have seen colleagues wear clothing that isn't professional. Ripped jeans. Sweatpants and shorts. Maybe the gym tteachers can wear a sweatsuit, but why a science teacher? Or a math teacher wearing skirt wayyyyy too high? Or a social studies teacher looking like she's running Saturday errands? I try not to judge but my mama's influence always comes through my mouth. Some of my colleagues look sloppy and aren't setting an example for the students.
