Educators are on the frontlines of Education

If you have never taught in a classroom, you have no idea what teachers go through every day. Students who show up late to school, don’t do their assignments, and disrupt the class is a daily reality. Teachers have to manage twenty-five (or more) different students with different backgrounds and life experiences. Teachers aren’t given training in child psychology and classroom management training is basic at best.

But teachers carry on through administrative micromanaging, lesson planning, grading, and meetings upon meetings. Teachers of all content areas try to make their lessons engaging and informative for students. Some lessons go well, and some don’t, but teachers reflect, tweak, and try again the next day. They don’t give up on ensuring education for every child.

Yet, it’s never enough. If a teacher informs a parent that their child is constantly talking in class and not producing work, the parent blames the teacher for their poor classroom management. If the teacher explains they’re trying to help the student and keep the parent in the loop, it falls on deaf ears. Parents put on blinders when it comes to their children. It must be the teacher’s fault if their precious child is acting up in the classroom.
