How to be Chic and Warm in Winter

In my region of the United States, winter has been whipping our behinds — literally. The winds have been upwards of 50 mph making the air crisp and frigid. While we haven’t had a lot of snow, the cold air more than makes up for it.

I don’t like to be cold, so I am a layering queen. I wear at least two pairs of socks, tights, and thermal pants. In addition, i wear a tank or a tee under my sweaters. My sweaters need to be comfy and thick without looking to bulky or matronly. Just because the weather is freezing outside, doesn’t mean we still can’t look good.

But finding stylish sweaters can be a game of hide and seek. Depending on the retailer, stylish sweaters will be in abundance or as desolate as my garden in January. Usually, I can find fashionable sweaters at TJ Maxx, Old Navy, and Target. Their selections are diverse and can suit many style aesthetics.

I like sweaters that are a bit oversized and colorful. Dark colored sweaters aren’t my vibe — except for Black sweaters. A black sweater is always chic. I also like my sweaters to have interesting construction details like draped sleeves or cuffs. I’m not a huge fan of knitted sweaters as they often unravel after a few washings.
