The economic impact will be a tremendous help

The student loan debate has been presented to the Supreme Court. The highest court in the land will decide whether millions of borrowers will be able to reduce their debt by 20,000 dollars.

Since the Supreme Court is swayed by Republican ideology, it is unlikely the judges will rule in Biden’s favor. But if they don’t rule in his favor, it may help Biden in his bid for reelection.

Like me, millions of people have student loan debt. Also like me, paying back those loans has become increasingly difficult. The difficulties are because of increased housing, health care, gas, and grocery costs. I mean, egg prices average about $6.00/dozen! U need to get my own chickens!

In addition, the pandemic made it clear that the U.S. is not ready to handle a major health crisis. The pandemic also opened many eyes to other options when it came to working and living in this country. People wanted to explore their ideas, start businesses, and pursue their dreams. The desire to sit in an office for 8 hours a day has lost its appeal. In addition, people are tired of toxic work environments which include draconian bosses and incompetent co-workers.

Biden wanted to grant student loan forgiveness because of the national health emergency, By law, he is within his right to do so. Of course, the Republicans, who hate helping people, disagreed and that’s why the case is before the Supreme Court.

I’m holding out hope that the Supreme Court will decide in Biden’s favor. People need debt relief. If Americans have more money in their pockets, they will put that money back into the economy. More money will help businesses which can lead to an increase in hiring. More hiring leads to more employees spending their paychecks and the cycle continues.

Let’s end student loan debt! It is not helping the economy!
