How to Create Your Streetwear Look

I’m a girly girl, but I love streetwear. At work, I combine my girly style with my streetwear obsession. It often makes me look like a teacher trying too hard to dress like a high school student. Over the years, I have refined my style and gravitated more towards hoodies, sneakers, and sweats. I like oversized graphic tees, baggy jeans, and wide-leg sweatpants. I incorporate the girl part of me in my use of color—bright pink, ocean blues, and rich reds.

While I continue to wear chic dresses and skirts, I enjoy an outfit that hits the 3 C’s—comfortable, colorful, and cool. I’m on my feet at work and often need to move fast when dealing with young people, so I prefer flats with cushions and sneakers. If I wear heels or wedges, it’s once in a while if the weather is nice and I’m feeling springy. I try to do so once weekly so my feet won’t ache for the rest of the week.
