What I Did and What I Need to Do in 2023

2022 is now a part of history. And as I reflect on the old year, I realize that I’ve accomplished a lot but also need to do more in 2023.

What did I do in 2022?

I received multiple vaccinations for COVID.

I continued to write poetry.

I became a student in poetry.

I began to write fiction.

I kept up with my writing group (we had a fairly good run in 2022).

I focused more on my fashion chronicling on Instagram.

I went back to posting art and art-related content on Tik Tok.

I began to have a better vision of what I want to do creatively for 2023.

What do I want to do in 2023?

Write more poetry

Submit more poetry to journals and magazines

Complete my first poetry collection

Publish my first poetry collection

Write more fiction

Write more nonfiction

Have a fiction manuscript by the fall of 2023

Have an essay collection by the fall of 2023

Have a career that brings me happiness and joy

Have a career that is outside of education

Travel more

Do more with fashion as I travel

Increase my social media presence on Instagram and TikTok

Use Facebook and Twitter as backup resources

My list for 2023 is long but those are my intentions for the year. I want to do more and see more this year. It doesn’t have to be overnight or within the next month, but I want to put my intentions out there. I’ve already made plans to add more experiences this year. I want to spend less time shopping and more time acquiring fun memories.

What are your plans for 2023? Put them out there for the universe to see. I believe in manifestation. I also believe in rolling up my sleeves and putting in the work. Nothing will happen if you don’t make it happen. Use time more wisely and efficiently. Rest when you need it. Work when you need to make an impact.

Happy New Year!!!!!
