Bring back the Old Kanye!

Dear Kanye,

Bruh, what is going on with you?!

You have fallen so far that you can’t even see the bottom!

You’ve lost deals with brand giants Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap. Footlocker has pulled your Yezzus shoes from its shelves.

You’re no longer a billionaire. Although being worth $400 million is definitely nothing to sneeze at. In any case, money is flowing away from you and I’m sure the business side of you is anguishing over that.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can come back from the dark side.

It will, however, take some time. You’ve insulted the Jewish community, sided with Donald Trump, and said “slavery was a choice.” Your actions over the past few years have cost you countless fans.

You’ve alienated the Black community by hanging out with that traitor Candance Owens and by wearing “White Lives Matter” sweaters. Dude! Really?! This is from the man who said during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in the early 2000s that “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people.” What happened to that Kanye?

I know part of your breakdown stems from the untimely passing of your mother, Donda West. She was your rock. I can understand the pain of losing a parent. I lost my mom five years ago and it still hurts. But I didn’t turn my back on my people, insult my culture, and side with individuals who rather have me out in a field than sit in their house.

I know I’ve changed, but I’m working on healing. You haven’t healed, Kanye.

You need to get out of the spotlight. Take a vacation. Talk to a therapist. Take some time to reevaluate your life. You’re 45 years old. You’re not an old man. There’s still time to turn things around and get back to being the Kanye we know and love.

That Kanye is within you. He needs to come out. Stop holding him back.

That Kanye is the “Jesus Walks” Kanye. The “Clique” Kanye. The “Niggas in Paris” Kanye. That’s the Kanye we miss. That’s the Kanye we need.

Kanye, you know deep down that your behavior is wrong. You know that this is not who you really are. It’s more than just your mental health, it’s your very soul on the line.

Think about your mother. Would she be happy with your behavior? Probably not. I’m sure her spirit is somewhere fussing right now. I hope she comes to you in your dreams and speaks to you. Listen to her. She will help you start your journey back to who you really are.

Kanye, do the right thing. Get back into the studio. Make good music. Return to Late Registration. Come back to College Dropout. Build back trust with the brands you’ve lost. Be genuine. Be real. Be Kanye West.

Think about it and be about it.
