Sambas, Gazelles, and now — SL 73s
Adidas has always had a place in my sneaker heart. While I grew up surrounded by Nike’s rise as the go-to sneaker in the hood. Adidas has been that competitive sibling doing their own thing in the background. Adidas has risen in status in the fashion world. Cool girls have been spotted in New York, Chicago, and L.A. streets sporting the latest Adidas drops.
For the past year, Adidas has stepped up its shoe game. First, it was the Sambas, which became all the rage in 2023. Next came the Gazelles, which made a smaller impact than the Sambas but still got some attention. Now, Adidas has returned to its 1970s roots with the SL 73s.
And I’m in love!
The SL 73s have been updated for 2024. The colors are sharper, and the design is a combination of chunky and sleek. I first saw the SL 73s in a video by The Style Insider. The shoe has been all over TikTok as the sneaker to wear this summer.
While I have more than enough sneakers in my closet, it’s time to add the SL 73s. These sneakers can be seen in many outfits, such as dresses, shorts, and capris. The colors are vibrant, and I must wear outfits that match their brilliance. I love color, so that won’t be a problem.
