Ladies, Here are Five Ways to Make Your Own Money
Ideas for Financial Independence
You may have read my piece, “Ladies, Don’t Depend on a Man’s Money.” If you haven’t please check it out. I tell a story of my experiences with men and money. This piece you’re about to see shows women avenues to multiple streams of income.
So let’s get to it!
- Sell Stuff:
There are several sites that support reselling — Poshmark, eBay, and Craigs List to name a few. On these sites, you can sell clothing, shoes, jewelry, and home goods. If you’re looking to sell a car, furniture, or tools, I would also suggest going to Amazon or Facebook Marketplace.
2. Offer Services:
Do you babysit or tutor? Can you clean homes or cut grass? Are you good with clothing organization or interior decorating? These services are in demand as people retreat into their homes for the holidays. Check out Care.com for babysitting, adult care, and housecleaning jobs. Tutoring jobs are plentiful. Check out Tutor.com or Indeed for tutoring jobs. Post your clothing organization and interior decorating skills on Next Door (a neighborhood app), Craigs List, or on Facebook.
3. Reach Out to Your Network:
Your friends, family, and coworkers are great resources for extra cash. Sometimes people need someone to help and you may be the person to provide a service. Let your network know that you’re looking to make extra cash. Tell them what you can offer and your skill level. The more info you provide the better your network can send opportunities your way.
4. Start a Blog:
Blogging has been around since the 90s and it has yet to go out of style. A blog is a way to showcase your skills and share your thoughts. You can also monetize your blog by reaching out to businesses and presenting their products. A blog can also help with affiliate marketing. You get links from a business and place them on your blog. When the links are clicked, the reader is sent to the business's website. If the reader buys a product, you get a percentage of the profits. Blogs can be started for free on Blogger.com and WordPress.com.
5. Start a Business:
The pandemic has led to the creation of new businesses. Many people started their companies while on lockdown in their homes. With the pandemic still an issue, now is the time to start your business. You can sell handcrafted goods like artwork or jewelry. You can also do digital products which can be made on sites like Canva. Customers can purchase digital products and download them to their computers.
Remember, any idea can be turned into income. Your experiences and skills can become a business. Think about your talents and how they can help others. People are always looking for something new. Your business can be that something new. And then you’re on your way to financial freedom.
