Kendrick Fires the First Salvo
The Revolution was Televised!
It has begun!
Kendrick Lamar has placed Black America on alert.
It's time to rise against racism and white supremacy.
I hope Donald Trump was watching Kendeick’s performance at the Super Bowl.
This was a halftime show for the ages.
Kendrick has cemented himself as the artist of the moment — a critical moment.
America is going backward. Presidential Kamala Harris warned us, and her campaign slogan was “We’re not going back.”
But we are.
Kendrick’s performance stated, “Hold up! Wait a minute! We aren’t going back without a fight.”
Lamar had an all-star cast at his Super Bowl halftime show. SZA joined him on stage for some of their joint hits. Serena Williams, tennis champion, entrepreneur, and mom, was crip walking, and Samuel L. Jackson played the role of Uncle Sam.
The choreographer onstage was hypnotic. The dancers wore red, white, and blue outfits. The symbolism was not lost on Black America. The dancers performed moves and sequences highlighting the division and struggle of being Black in this country.
This performance was not about Drake. It was a warning shot.
