I’m Proud to be “Woke.”

I can’t ignore the growing hate around me

Being woke is no joke.

Wokeness keeps the haters at bay. Wokeness is a movement that we need today.

Wokeness is a power that can scale the tower of ignorance and hate.

Wokeness is what this country needs to use before it’s too late.

Desantis may run for President. He has targeted the “woke agenda.”

There’s no agenda and Desantis is a pretender to the throne.

He’s deliberately targeting Black people. He needs to leave us the hell

alone. We aren’t going to let him turn the country into a bastion of hate.

America needs to become better — before it’s too late.

I’m proud to be woke. I see the evil of racism. Black people are seen

as others. We are still not a part of the mainstream. We’re attacked

in person and online. Every social medial platform has a trove of trolls

that harass Black men and women who urge Black folks to go to the polls.

When we comment on injustice, the ignorant don’t trust us. They try

to gaslight our plight in this country. Their hateful comments grow more

virulent every day spurred on by men like Elon Musk and his twisted

version of “free speech.”

Those of us who continue to speak and write about the injustice beseech’

others to join the fight. Wokeness is a movement. Education is elevation,

says Conscious Lee. In order to be free, Black people need to spread the

word. We need to be heard. Desantis, Trump, and so many others want to

change history, hide history, and block history — Black American history.

We can’t allow these people or anyone else to control the narrative of this

country. The United States has blood on its hands. The blood of Black

people, Latinos, Asians, and Indigenous people. All of us deserve to be

heard. We cannot silence our words.

The fight is not done. People of color need to unite as one. We know who

are enemies are. We must gather together — near and far. Wokeness is here

to stay.

Stay woke every day!
