I'm more concerned about hpw we as a people, as a culture treat each other when it comes to our hair. We use the term "nappy" far too much. Our hair is a natural texture derived from our ancestors. many of us understand and embrace our hair, but many of us don't. As an educator I can't count how many times a student of color has commented on my hair (or my wigs). They make rude comments and jokes and don't care about the consequences. It stems from a lack of knowledge, ignorance, and the beliefs received from yt society about our hair. We must undo that damage.
