A Summer in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games

Back in 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to Paris, France. It was my first trip to the country, and I was excited to explore the city. Paris had been on my list of places to go for so long, so when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance to go. I went as a student for a writer’s workshop and left with an experience.
Firstly, the flight to Paris was easy. Unlike American-owned companies, Europeans do things differently when it comes to travel. There was no check luggage fee! It was included in the price of the airfare. The seats on the plane were cushiony and soft, and there was no distinguishing between first class, business class, and everyone else.
When we landed, I quickly retrieved my luggage, followed the signs to show my passport, and officially entered the country. The workshop hosts had provided explicit instructions on how to get to the hotel. They were easy to follow, and the train ride to the area was a tourist’s dream. People were friendly, and many spoke fluent English, which helped since my French was somewhat rudimentary.
