How MMA Has Changed My Life
Mix Martial Artists helps me channel my aggressive side.
For years, I have been a fan of WWE (ever since it was known as the WWF). I grew up on Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Road Warriors, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. I used to drool over the Rock and wanted to smell what he was cooking. But then I learned that WWE/WCW/ECW and all the federations had scripted fights. Sure, the antics in the ring led to real injuries, but the outcome was predetermined.
When wrestlers started dying from their injuries, and Chris Benoit murdered his family, I was done with the WWE. The management didn't handle the situation well, making me feel icky. Nowadays, I only occasionally watch WWE to keep up with the latest stars.
I met my current BFF five years ago, and my life improved. Not only was she my friend in fashion and makeup, but she was also a WWE fan, and what changed my life was MMA. MMA, known as Mixed Martial Arts, was also her favorite. Her favorite MMA organization was the UFC, and while I had heard of UFC and some of its stars, she provided me with a deep dive into the world of UFC.
I loved every moment.
MMA fights aren’t staged. There are no backstage shenanigans, skits, or fake drama. The drama is real. In the dressing rooms, fighters are prepping for their matches. They’re shadowboxing, kicking, and…
