Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa are exactly one week away. Shopping malls are packed daily with stressed consumers. Parking lots are filled. Online shopping sites promise delivery on or before Christmas. Everyone is rushing around decorating their homes, purchasing gifts, and depleting their bank accounts.
And you still have started your holiday shopping?!
Don’t panic. Luckily, retailers know some shoppers like to wait until almost Christmas Day to see if stores will offer last-minute discounts. This is a strategy with a mixed bag of results. It all depends on the item being sought.
Winter clothing and boots are on clearance at stores like Old Navy, Target, and TJ Maxx. However, deeper discounts will likely happen from December 26th through the end of January.
Toys are on sale, and like clothing, they may be cheaper to buy after the holidays.
Decorations and gift wrap are already marked down and will be even lower after Christmas.
