It’s a day for candy and costumes.

Candy lovers! Unite! One of our favorite candy-eating holidays has arrived! Halloween! October 31st is a day all candy lovers rejoice. Yes. There’s candy for Christmas and of course, for Valentine’s Day. And who can forget the candy on Easter? But Halloween is the number one holiday to get tons of candy for free.

Chocolate. Caramel. Lollipops. Gum. Sweet Tarts. Nerds. Laffy Taffy. Mini sizes and full sizes (my preference). They all await kids and adults today. Whether at a Halloween party or via trick or treating, today is the day dentists all across America are happily awaiting the aftermath of Halloween. Cavities up! Dentists pad their pockets. But it’s worth it, it’s hard to resist the sweet sugar rush.

And let’s not forget about the costumes! From old school ghosts and witches to popular Marvel and DC superheroes, costumes make Halloween. Adults, teens, and kids will parade through their neighborhoods wearing homemade and store-bought designs. Stores like Party City and Halloween Town have been busy for weeks, providing an array of Halloween items and accessories.

The stores provide everything from makeup, jewelry, and masks. Customers can pick up a replica of Thor’s hammer, a scythe, or sword. You can be Captain America, the First Avenger, or a ghoul. If you’re into clowns, there are plenty of options. Huge bow ties and clown makeup galore. You can wear a crown or a witch’s hat. Whatever you’re into for Halloween, the stores sell it.

Always remember to be safe on Halloween. Go out in groups. Only go to houses you know. Check everything given to you. Or have a parent check it. There are crazy people out there who will place needles and razors inside candy bars. If the candy looks tampered with throw it away. Halloween should be a fun event and not a trip to the hospital. Go out and be scary or get scared! Happy Halloween!
