Dude, just go already!

Do the honorable thing.

Since the Cuomo Report was released by New York’s Attorney General, the amount of evidence has been quite damning. Eleven women, all perceived as credible, have accused Governor Cuomo of sexual harassment. In addition, Cuomo's office was accused of creating a toxic work environment.

These women held various positions within the Cuomo Administration. One accuser worked on Cuomo’s security team. She was a state trooper assigned to protect Cuomo. In her testimony, she stated that Cuomo touched her chest and stroked her all the way down to her private area. Another accuser stated that Cuomo kissed her and committed other acts of unwanted touching.

It boggles my mind that Cuomo would treat women in such a manner. Has he not seen how Republican leaders have treated women who worked for them? I thought Cuomo knew better. In the past, he has been a vocal supporter of women in the workplace. He even set up protocols in his office against sexual harassment. Did these protocols not apply to him?

Many Democrats have asked Cuomo to resign. Even President Biden chimed in with a request for Governor Cuomo to leave office. As of this writing, Cuomo has staunchly refused to resign. However, he did agree to whatever the state legislators decide about his future in office. Right now, many of them feel that if Cuomo doesn’t leave on his own, he should be impeached. An impeachment would force Cuomo out of office.

Cuomo should leave before he’s impeached. It would be embarrassing for Cuomo and his political legacy. Republicans would be delighted that a Democrat has suffered the same fate as their fallen leader Donald Trump. They would never let Democrats forget that one of their own was impeached. It took decades for them to move on from former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

Please leave, Governor Cuomo. Do yourself and your family a favor. Cooperate with the Attorney General’s office. Fight for your honor in a court of law. But leave the Governor’s Office. You’ve done a lot for the state of New York. Don’t let all that good work be forgotten.
