Godzilla x Kong — Movie Review
The New Empire will be the next sequel
- **SPOILERS AHEAD***
I watched “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” and loved every minute. After a brief skirmish, the two monsters team up to take on the Scar King and Shimu to save the world.
The movie centers around Gia, the mute Iwi girl who, we learn, was the lone survivor of her tribe on Skull Island. Gia was adopted by the doctor we first met in “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Gia has visions and feels out of place at her Monarch Academy school. There’s a weird pulse calling to Gia and subsequently to Godzilla and Kong.
Meanwhile, Kong enjoys living on the Hollow Earth but is lonely. Every day, Monarch scientists track his movements. Kong is in a desperate search to find other apes. Monarch believes it’s a futile effort.
But there’s wrong.
One day, Kong hears a roaring sound from a cavern near his cave home. He follows the sound and lands in the subterranean realm, an unchartered section of Hollow Earth. As Kong wanders through the mist, he meets a young ape, to his surprise.
The young ape is only a child—but a sneaky one. He lures Kong into a trap where much larger apes attack him. These apes nearly subdue Kong, but he’s an experienced fighter and soon defeats them. Kong has the young ape take him to where…
