Friend or Foe?
The Shanquella Robinson Story Should Be Eye-Opening for Us All
A 25-year-old woman is dead. Her body was found in a hotel room in Cabo, Mexico. Her “friends” returned home to inform her family that Shanquella had succumbed to alcohol poisoning. The truth was soon revealed.
Shanquella Robinson died from a severe beating. She had bruises all over her body. Her neck was broken. Her spine was severed. Her face was swollen with split lips. This was not alcohol poisoning. This was murder.
Robinson’s so-called “friends” had attacked her in their hotel room. There is a video of Robinson being punched by one of her assailants. A man filming asked Robinson to fight back at which point Robinson is heard saying,” No.” Robinson’s father stated his only daughter was not a fighter.
With every passing day, the story has become more and more bizarre — and terrible. Robinson apparently had paid the majority of the cost for the trip to Cabo. Another video showed Robinson getting her “friends” ready to go swimming. She appeared to be in good spirits in the video. Why did her “friends” attack her?
I suspect, as do many others, that Robinson was set up by her friends. The attack was planned. Her death may not have been planned, but it happened. It is murder. Those who were on the trip with Robinson should be held responsible. However, they’re apparently still walking around free. Why haven't they been arrested?
I can’t go on a trip with everyone. But now, I have to be extra selective. I don’t want to travel with someone who may have it out for me. I want to enjoy my travels with people who have my back — not want to stab me in the back. Friends, true friends, should want to uplift you, not uppercut you.
I will not allow someone to attack me. Robinson may not have been a fighter, but I sure as hell am. I’ve watched too many martial arts, WWE, and MMA shows to not know how to take someone down. I will defend my life. No one on earth has the right to end me.
Prayers to Shanquella Robinson’s family. I hope Robinson’s spirit will guide the law to her killers. She deserves justice. Her family deserves justice. Know who your friends are. If they don’t support you, they may try to kill you. Not everyone is your friend.
