A Dress from the 1960s gets a 2025 Update
During the Mod Era of the 1960s, mini dresses were the outfit for women. They came in al colors and styles. They could be worn every season — wool mini dresses for winter, lightweight cotton dresses for the spring and summer, long sleeved printed dresses for fall. Mini dresses could be worn with flats, sandals, or wedges. They stopped just above the knee., but other variations stopped at mid-thigh. Hugely popular, mini dresses were a fashion staple in the 1960s through the 1970s.
During the 1980s, mini dresses were replaced by maxi dresses and skirts. The bohemian vibe of the 1960s replaced the Mod Era. Bright colors, abstract designs, and unique shapes defined 80s style. This continued into the mid-1990s when the mini skirt made its triumphant return. The mini skirt was also a creation from the 1960s, but updated in the 90s.
