A New Month Begins as Spring Continues

April is over. The fourth month of 2024 is now a part of history. May is the fifth month and the month for Mother’s Day.

My April was productive. It was National Poetry Month and I wrote and read poems all month long. I only regret not submitting my work as much as I would have liked. I spent a good chunk of April continuing to build my social media presence and making money online.

With it being the first of the month, a new batch of submission deadlines are due today. I’ll see what I can send out today and throughout the month. I have been making progress on my second poetry collection, Night Forager. I have a really good feeling about this collection.

In addition to writing, I’m on the job hunt. It’s been a mixed bag. I’m frustrated that I haven’t received any job offers from my old school district. I had one principal who wanted me onboard but human resources told them find another candidate. WTF?! I’m qualified for the role and HR said no?! I don’t understand why I’m constantly blocked. It appears they don’t want me teaching or doing anything else.

While I was depressed for a bit over the situation, I’m bouncing back. I’m not giving up and the more the district denies me the harder I’ll push back. It has become blatantly obvious that I’m on their “DO NOT HIRE” list and there will…
