Donald Trump is the Only April’s Fool
His Rhetoric shows that he isn’t dealing with reality
Donald Trump, former President of the United States, has been indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He faces several charges under the indictment. But the most glaring one is the payoff made to a former porn star, Stormy Daniels.
This payoff occurred in 2016, prior to the presidential election. Trump authorized the payment via his attorney, Michael Cohen. Trump spent many years denying any wrongdoing. But as the evidence grew and Cohen provided testimony, Trump had to admit to being aware of the payoff. That was the beginning of the end of Trump.
Still, Trump doubted that he would ever be indicted. He maintained that he had immunity from prosecution due to his office. There is no such immunity. Trump was incited on Thursday, March 30th.
As soon as the indictment was handed down, Trump threatened “death and destruction.” He rallied his base to protect against the indictment. While his base has been vocal about the indictment, we have yet to see thousands of people storming the Manhattan DA’s building. The MAGA followers seem to not want to take on the City of New York.
But we can’t let down our guard. Things may take a turn for the worst when Trump arrives in New York for his arraignment. Trump is scheduled to make an appearance Tuesday afternoon. Who knows what he is planning between now and then?
America is heading in a dangerous direction. Trump’s influence led to an insurrection at the nation’s Capitol. Thousands of people descended on Washington D.C. to protest the 2020 election results and soon turned into a MAGA army, storming the halls of Congress. The world watched in horror as protesters battled police officers and entered Congressional chambers, damaging property and stealing documents. It is quite possible that Trump’s supporters are preparing to strike again.
Trump must face justice. However, his indictment and arraignment may galvanize his supporters to rise up again. If anything, this may persuade many to go to the polls to ensure that Trump wins the presidency. This cannot happen! Trump can’t be allowed to serve as president — even if it’s behind bars.
