DeSantis the Dictator
And He Might Be the Next President of the United States
If Donald Trump was the most incompetent President in the history of America Presidents, Ron DeSantis might go down in history as the first dictator president.
DeSantis, the current Governor of Florida, has turned the state into a bastion of conservative chaos. In other words, Florida has become a racist paradise.
DeSantis has passed laws banning Critical Race Theory from being taught in public school (which wasn't happening in the first place), threatening teachers with firings if they teach anything that would upset little white children, to demanding the names of all staff members at Florida’s colleges and universities who work or teach in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Florida has become an academic wasteland.
In his latest act of foolishness, DeSantis informed the College Board that Florida’s public schools will not include an AP class in African American Studies. DeSantis wrote to the board stating that “AP African American Studies did have any educational value.” Huh?!
How can the history, culture, and literature of an entire race of people have no educational value? It’s mind-boggling to understand DeSantis’ blatant racist statement. It’s also obvious that DeSantis is no longer hiding his racist views toward African Americans.
I suggest every man, woman, and child of African American descent leave Florida as soon as possible. Florida is regressing in its thinking. Equality is a bad word in that state. It may be only a matter of time before DeSantis passes a law allowing the re-enslavement of every Black person in the state.
That may be an extreme case, but not beyond the realm of possibility. Remember there were thousands of people who stormed the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. And we didn’t think that would happen.
We also didn’t think we’d experience a pandemic that would shut down schools and nonessential businesses for several months, forcing people into masks and requiring vaccinations.
And we didn’t think it would be possible in the late 1960s to put a man on the moon. And that happened before the internet, cell phones, personal computers, and social media even existed!
But it was done!
DeSantis may run for Presudent in 2024. Despite his dictator ways, he’s very popular in Florida and other Southern states. Conservatives love him and he’d be a welcome addition to the halls of the White House. I can envision Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kevin McCarthy welcoming DeSantis with open arms.
If DeSantis were to run (and win), America’s regression would go full speed. Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, and LGBTQIA Rights would be wiped away. DeSantis would give the Republicans his blessing to do whatever they want for the good of themselves. The people would be forgotten. And if people are of color or have a sexual or gender orientation, they’d be targets in a DeSantis administration.
But it doesn't have to be this way. Florida can rid itself of DeSantis. They can stand up to him and his racist agenda. DeSantis is bringing Florida down. And the education of their children will be full of gaps compared to children living in more progressive states. I guess DeSantis doesn't have a problem with white children knowing less than Black or Latino children.
In any event, DeSantis and those who govern like him need to be removed from office. These governors only care about power. They want to line their pockets with kickbacks from lobbyists. While their constituents struggle to pay for eggs, the politicians are taking vacations in expensive locales.
DeSantis is a danger. He can’t become the next President. America deserves better.
