Creativity Doesn’t Have An Age Limit

We’re told we’re too young to do certain things when we're children.
Can I walk to my friend’s house? No, you’re too young to go by yourself. Can I get a pet? No, you’re not old enough to handle the responsibility. Can I stay home by myself? No, you’re too young to be alone at home.
Ironically, as we age, we hit an “age intersection.” What I mean by that is that we reach a crossroads of being too young and too old. If we’re in high school, we’re too old for the kiddie pool but just right for the community pool. When we’re 18, we’re considered an “adult,” but we’re still too young to consume alcohol or rent a car. When we’re 21, we can drink alcohol, vote, and work a full-time job. But if we show up at a playground or a teen event, we’re suspected of being a pedophile (even if you’re there to pick up your younger sibling or, in some cases — your child).
When it comes to creativity, there shouldn’t be an age limit. As children, we draw stick figures, color outside the lines, and don’t care whether our art is good (as kids, we always think it’s good anyway). As we age, our skills increase and become better, sharper, and more refined.
