Say it ain’t so, Tiffany!
According to Blavity, “Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being sued over accusations that they forced a pair of siblings to act in sexually explicit skits that allegedly ended up being published on the Funny or Die website in 2018.”
Per Blavity, The Daily Beast, and NBC News, “Physically, emotionally, and mentally uncomfortable, Plaintiff Jane Doe mimicked the acts that Haddish and Spears wanted her to do so she could go home,” the complaint stated.”
The filers of the suit were 14 years old and 7 years old when the alleged sexual inappropriateness occurred.
Haddish, a superstar comedienne, who has starred in Girls’ Trip and other films, started from humble beginnings as detailed in her memoir “Black Unicorn.”
Aries Spears is most recently known for body shaming Lizzo and slamming Black women for not keeping it real when it comes to their body issues.
“The siblings, who say their mother previously tried to reach a $15,000 settlement with Spears over the alleged molestation video, are suing Haddish and Spears for damages, USA Today reports. They say Jane has been unable to “trust anyone” since the incident, while John is facing depression and anxiety. John alleges that he is so afraid of being watched that he puts bandaids over electronics and cameras, according to TMZ.
Haddish has hired Andrew Brettler as her attorney. Brettler, the go-to lawyer for many men in Hollywood accused of sexual abuse, has represented Prince Andrew, Armie Hammer, Chris Noth, and more.”
I viewed a portion of the video and I was shocked by what I saw. Haddish is clearly involved in the skit and the young boy (John Doe) is left with Spears’ uncle's character and the boy is only wearing underwear. The little boy is playing with toys in front of Spears who pretends to read a newspaper. The newspaper has two eyeholes cut out in its pages. Spears’ character watches the boy play with wide eyes, a sweaty forehead, and licking his lips.
At one point, the boy is posing provocatively (legs up in the air in a v-shape) and rubbing a toy up and down (as if it were a penis). All the while, Spears’ character watches lustfully as the boy continues his suggestive poses. Another scene shows Spears, grabbing a bottle of water and pouring it down the boy’s back and then rubbing the boy’s back. All the while, the boy says nothing and continues playing with his toys.
I have several questions. Who filmed this filth? Why would they do so without raising concerns about the skit’s content? Where was the boy’s mother? There should have been someone on set questioning the skit’s content.
I had to turn the video off as the skit shifted to the bathroom scene. The boy was sitting in a tub full of bubbles. Haddish’s character has to “run errands” and again leaves the boy with her uncle. I couldn’t watch it anymore. I knew what was coming.
Haddish’s career will come to a screeching halt if her involvement with underage minors performing sexually inappropriate skits turns out to be true.
Based on the video, It’s going to be hard to explain away the skit’s content. Haddish should have known better. I’m really disappointed in her involvement in this nastiness. As for Spears, whatever career he has will certainly be down the drain now. He didn’t look like much and only wanted clout after dissing Lizzo. His relevancy is zero.
