I appreciated the upgrade in the series.

**SPOILER ALERT**

The latest entry in the Castlevania series — Castlevania Nocturne — doesn’t disappoint. The first three seasons were a mixed bag — a strong start, a confusing middle, and a somewhat satisfying ending. for instance, what happened to Dracula and his wife? Did Alucard find love? What other adventures did the Belmonts have?

It would have been great if there had been a move linking the first three seasons with the current one. There are a lot of questions left unanswered. In addition, I would have loved to know about Trevor and Sypher and their lives as parents. How many children did they have? Were all of the children vampire hunters?

But, we went right into the next season of the series and young Victor(?) Belmont heading towards the docks with his mother. Their way was blocked by Oolan, an Aztec Vampire. Oolan has a score to settle with Victor’s mother. They fight as Victor watches and when his mother is in trouble, Victor tries to help her. But he isn’t strong enough yet and Victor’s mother dies in front of him.

Oolan doesn’t kill Victor (?) and disappears into the night. Victor (?0 grabs his mother’s whip and runs towards the docks. Fast forward nine years later, Victor is a teen. He’s a strapping young man longing against a tree as a young girl, Maria, is speaking to a group of villagers. She’s trying to encourage them to join the revolution that has swept across France.
