The quote, “I will always be recovering from my past.” resonated with me. I am a survivor of domestic violence. It happened when I was in my late teens. I thought I was in love. I knew my boyfriend at the time was wrong for hitting me. He was wrong for playing psychological games on me. Those games impacted my mental health — and my distrust of men.
Cassie’s situation was similar to mine. Even though her boyfriend was a music mogul with tons of money, he was abusing her. I’m sure Cassie loved Diddy at the time, and that’s why she continues to be with him. The video of Diddy’s assault at the hotel was in 2016. The couple didn’t split until 2019.
