Black women wear wigs for a variety of reasons. For one, many Black women suffer from a hair loss condition called Alopecia.. Many Black women have bald spots from the condirion. I suffered from it as well and despite using a variety of hair growth treatments wassn't able to shrink the bald spot by very much. Then, I got breast cancer and it worsened my condition, I use to have loc, growing my haor to shoulder length, When I did chemo, the locs fell oit and I shaved my head. My haor has been slowly regrowing ever since. When it's warm out, I wear scarves and headwraps. When it's cold, I don a wig. There is no shame in wearing wigs.
