2023 is Acting Up
Four Days in and I’m Already Worried
2023 needs to sit in the corner. 2023 was supposed to come in like a lamb. The year was supposed to be quiet and gentle. The last few months of 2022 were crazy — from Kanye’s antics to Twitch’s suicide. It’s been a rough end to 2022.
But no sooner had 2023 started we had drama. Congress can’t elect a speaker. Kevin McCarthy is not the chosen one. The other Republicans don’t want him in the speaker role. As of this writing, he’s been rejected at least four times.
We had the Buffalo Bills lose a player to cardiac arrest. Damar Hamlin made a tackle during a game on Monday, January 2nd. After the tackle, Hamlin stood and took a couple of steps. and fell backward. He was given CPR and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He has been sedated and intubated. He’s alive but in critical condition.
The city of Buffalo was digging itself out of the second major snowstorm in a month. This storm claimed many lives, including a woman who was trapped in her car only a few miles from her home. Unfortunately, she didn’t survive. Texas had a similar situation and Senator Ted Cruz took a vacation to a tropical island.
Getting back to Kanye West, he’s disappeared. No one has seen or heard from Ye in weeks. He’s not making the rounds on talk shows. Ye is not on social media. He has gone dark. Despite his actions, I do hope he is ok.
So, 2023 is wilding out. This reminds me, Nick Cannon has had another baby. Congrats to him. But he will need to put in more work this year to help care for his eleven children. Cannon was asked if he would consider a vasectomy. Nick replied, “My body, my choice.” Ok then bruh. Go get another hosting gig or two. You’re going to need that money.
Happy 2023! Let’s hope things get better.
